• Constable (Driver): 21 to 27 years (born between 02.01.1999 and 01.01.2005)
• All other Technical & Tradesmen posts, including Pioneer Wing: 18 to 23 years (born between 02.01.2003 and 01.01.2008)

Age relaxation is allowed as per central government rules: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and up to 3 years for Ex-Servicemen after deducting military service. Children of 1984 riot victims get additional relaxation (5 years for UR, 8 years for OBC and 10 years for SC/ST). For details read official notification.

• Constable (Driver): Minimum Matriculation (10th pass) plus valid Heavy Transport Vehicle Driving Licence. Must clear the driving test at the recruitment stage.
• Constable (Motor Mechanic Vehicle): Minimum 10th pass plus 2-year ITI certificate in Mechanic Motor Vehicle OR 3-year apprenticeship certificate with 1-year practical experience.
• Constable (Other Tradesmen): Minimum 10th pass with proven trade proficiency in the applied trade (Cook, Tailor, Cobbler, Carpenter, Painter, Barber, Washerman, Safai Karmachari, Brass / Pipe Band, Bugler, Gardner, etc.).
• Constable (Pioneer – Mason / Electrician): Minimum 10th pass plus ITI certificate in the respective trade OR 1-year experience in masonry / electrician work.

Selected Constables will be placed in Pay Level-3 of the 7th Central Pay Commission matrix with a pay scale of ₹21,700 – ₹69,100. This is a Group C combatised post, which means you get all the benefits of a central government defence employee. The starting basic pay is ₹21,700 and it grows steadily with every annual increment.
